In short

Your documents never leave your device. Every PDF operation — scanning, merging, compressing, converting, signing — runs entirely offline on your phone. No file, no page image, and no filename is ever uploaded. There is no account and no server operated by the developer.

The app does show ads through Google AdMob, and the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects data of its own. That, plus your purchase of Remove Ads if you make one, is the only data collection connected to this app. Both are described in full below.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Android app PDF One — Scan, Compress, Convert (com.nakcont.pdfone), distributed on Google Play. It does not cover any other app or website.

The app is published by an independent developer, contactable at [email protected].

2. What the app does

PDF One is an offline document toolkit. It scans paper documents with the camera, merges and reorders PDFs, compresses them to a target size, converts between PDFs and images, and adds signatures and stamps.

All processing is performed on your device by a PDF engine bundled inside the app. The app contains no HTTP client of its own: nothing in the document pipeline is capable of network access. The only component that uses the network is the advertising SDK.

3. Your documents: never collected

The files you open, create and export are not collected. Specifically:

No document, page image, thumbnail or filename is transmitted, sold, shared, or stored off your device.
There is no backend server operated by the developer, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the app.
A file you pick is copied into the app's private cache only because the PDF engine needs a real file path to read from. That copy stays on your device.
Results stay in app-private storage until you explicitly export or share them, at which point they go only where you choose to send them.
Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on your device.

Note on scanning. The camera capture is performed by Google's ML Kit Document Scanner, which runs inside Google Play services — a separate system component, not this app. That is why the app requests no camera permission of its own. The captured pages are handed back to PDF One as a local file. Google's handling of that component is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays banner ads and occasional full-screen ads between operations, served by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects data automatically, independently of the developer. According to Google's published disclosure, it collects:

This data is collected by and shared with Google as a third party. Its handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

The content of your documents is never used for advertising. The ads SDK has no access to your files; it does not see what you scan, convert or compress.

5. Remove Ads purchase

The app offers a one-time in-app purchase, Remove Ads, processed by Google Play Billing. The developer never sees or handles your payment details — the entire transaction happens inside Google Play.

Google provides the app with the fact that the purchase exists so the app can honour it. That entitlement is stored locally on your device. Purchase history is data collected by Google in connection with this app, and is declared as such on the app's Play Store listing.

Once Remove Ads is active, the advertising SDK is never initialised at all — no advertising identifier is collected from you, and the consent form described below is never shown.

6. Your consent choices

Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Before any ad is requested, the app shows a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform, letting you accept or refuse the use of your data for personalised advertising. The ads SDK is not initialised until you have made that choice. Refusing does not restrict any feature of the app — every PDF tool works the same either way.

To change or withdraw a choice you have already made, you can clear the app's data (Android Settings → Apps → PDF One → Storage → Clear data), which resets the stored consent state so the form is shown again on next launch. Purchasing Remove Ads also stops all advertising data collection permanently.

All users — Advertising ID

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device and Android version). Deleting it stops personalised advertising across apps.

7. Permissions

PDF One requests an unusually small set of permissions for a document app:

AD_ID — required by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to access the Advertising ID. This is the only permission the app declares itself.
INTERNET — contributed by the ads SDK, not declared by the app. Nothing in the document pipeline uses it.

The app deliberately does not request:

Camera — scanning runs inside Google Play services, which owns the camera.
Storage — files are opened through Android's Storage Access Framework, which grants access to the single file you pick and nothing else. The app cannot browse your storage.
Location, contacts, microphone, or phone state.

8. Children

PDF One is a document utility intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect any data from children.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because the developer collects and stores no personal data, there is nothing held to retrieve or delete. Uninstalling the app removes all local files, cached copies and settings. Data collected by Google through AdMob and Google Play Billing is retained under Google's own policies, linked above.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be published on this page before they take effect.
